Soudersburg

Soudersburg is a completely fictional map that will be the site of the 1st battle in the DYOD campaign. The elevations used come from the WIA_Rocky_Bayou map, which has been re-worked.

The town of Soudersburg is surrounded by rolling hills and farms. On the north end of town is a foundry, warehouses and some stores.  Small houses for the foundry workers stretch across the west side of the town.  The worker’ houses are on the northern end of Washington Street, which runs north to south on the west end of town. There is a prison at the junction of Carroll Valley Road and Washington Street, a church at the junction of Keysville Road and Washington, and an almshouse all the way at the southern end of the street.

Hamilton Street runs north to south through the center of town, starting from the foundry.  There is a church at the corner of 1st Street and Hamilton (Carroll Valley Road becomes 1st Street), but otherwise it is primarily a residential street with some town houses. The Old Fellows Hall and a large house are on the heights at the southern end of Hamilton.
Soudersburg Pike travels north to south across the map and runs along the eastern side of town. It has a number of large homes, City Hall, a church, and a hotel along the west side of the pike. There is a rail fence bordering the eastern side of the pike.  A school house is located at the junction of Westminster Road and Soudersburg Pike.

Cemetery Hill is immediately east of town and is mostly open with the exception of a walled cemetery and small cemetery building. Further east are two key junctions. Orchard Junction is at the Combs Orchards, where the Westminster Road intersects with the New Windsor Road. Diller’s Corner is located at the junction of the Manchester Road and Unger Hill Road, which connected Diller’s Corner to Orchard Junction.
The town of Soudersburg is the primary objective of the simulation. Orchard Junction and Diller’s Corner are secondary objectives.
