There was a slight lull in the fighting as both sides re-positioned there lines, withdrawing from some areas and re-enforcing others. Shortly before 10:00 a.m., the Confederates resumed an attack on the Union line in town.
The Federal line is along 1st Street, which runs East-West from the Court House and Episcopal Church at the east side of town to the Prison on the west side of town. The Confederates are attacking up the North-South streets: Soudersburg Pike on the east side of town, Hamilton Street in the Center, and Washington Street on the west side of town.
The Confederate attack is being spearheaded by Alabamans on Soudersburg Pike, North Carolinians on Hamilton Street and a Tennessee Brigade up Washington Street. The Federal line on 1st Street is composed entirely of Pennsylvania regiments.
