Fondy's Division stalled in a fire fight with Rockne on the west end of the field, as MacDonald and Engle continued their relentless push through town. The fighting between 1st Street and Keysville Road was intense, with hand to hand fighting as Noll's Division made one last attempt to stop the Confederate advance. Elements of Rockne's Division also came into town to enter the melee with Engel's right.
In the end, the Confederates had just about destroyed Noll's Division, but could not quite reach Keysville Road at the south end of town. Just before 10:15 a.m., however, Major General Matthew Fondy registered as being in control of Soudersburg.
DYOD is over. Stats and scores will come out tomorrow. It is clearly a Confederate victory, but this may be an even more costly engagement than the Battle of Crane in the WAR IN ARKANSAS series. Stay tuned for more details tomorrow.
